Hello! My name is Fr. Ambrose Dobrozsi. I grew up just a bit south of here in Loveland, on the north side of Cincinnati. I was homeschooled growing up, which gave my family a lot of time to devote to our passion of bicycle racing. We came up to Greene County pretty frequently for races on the mountain bike trail at John Bryan State Park, so I’m excited to live close to those awesome trails. I went to college at a small Catholic school called Magdalene College in Warner, New Hampshire, studying philosophy, history, and literature. Every student in the school was in the choir, so I spent a lot of time singing. I even got to direct the choir for a semester. I continue to love sacred music, as well as punk rock and jazz. Following college, I received a MA in Theology at the University of Dayton, before entering seminary in 2014. My time at Mt. St. Mary’s in Cincinnati was an incredible blessing. The brotherhood among seminarians really helped encourage me to grow in prayer and in virtue. We got many opportunities to teach the faith, serve the poor, and travel around the Archdiocese to see the wide diversity we have here. I was ordained in May, 2019, and received my first assignment at St. Peter, Huber Heights, and Our Lady of the Rosary, Holy Cross, and St. Adalbert in Old North Dayton. Although that time had some ups and downs, it was ultimately a beautiful lesson in God’s goodness and providence. This summer, it was very nice to only need to move six miles to Fairborn, where I currently live at Mary, Help of Christians. I am excited to live with you all, pray with you, and help everyone in our family of parishes grow closer to Jesus Christ! Please pray for me.
