Cantors at the guitar group and choir Masses typically come from within the ensembles. Other cantors can be used at the 11 AM Mass. Our pastoral associate of music and liturgy, Dr. David Sievers, is a nationally-recognized voice teacher and trainer of cantors. He will be more than happy to work with cantors on an individual basis with preparation and training. An ability to read music is not required, but we do require an "audition" (usually just a chance for David to hear you) and ALL cantors will receive training prior to being a cantor, regardless of past experience.
