Liturgical Ministry Opportunities

 

          Mass Coordinators – attend to logistical details of the Mass such as altar and church preparation, presence of the liturgical team

          --- fully initiated, mature 16 year old or older willing to attend to the altar and the liturgical team on a frequent basis

          Lectors – proclaim the Word of God inspirationally at Mass, make announcements, introduce the Mass

         Guitar Ensemble – support worship at Saturday Vigil Mass and other liturgies and events - instrumental and voice

          --- no audition required – anyone of high school age or older who has a desire to praise God with music is welcome

          --- rehearsal every Saturday at 4:30 PM in the Music Room – off during the summer months

         Altar Servers – service on the altar during liturgical and Sacramental celebrations

          --- youth, male and female, in grades 5 and up through high school receive initial training sessions held annually

         Ushers – help people find seats at Mass, take up collection, direct flow of people during communion, distribute bulletins

         Children's Liturgy of the Word – celebrate the Liturgy of the Word with children ages 3-9 for the first half of Mass

          --- leaders must be 18 or older– younger volunteers can be aides and music leaders are also needed

          --- committed to leading or helping during the Saturday 5:30 PM and Sunday 10 AM Mass

         Eucharistic Adoration – support and participate in adoration of the Holy Eucharist

         Purificator Ministry - maintain purificators and altar cloths

         Wedding Helpers – assist couples with the rehearsal and the wedding ceremony

        Youth Ministry – reaches out to 6th – 12th graders of the parish to engage them in a growing faith and service to others

        Little Flowers Girls’ Club – Catholic club for girls which teaches virtues through study of scripture and the Catechism

        Vacation Bible School – help with a 5-day faith adventure for children preschool – 5th grade

          Bereavement Committee - assist grieving families with funeral liturgy preparation, prayers at visitation, funeral Mass

              --- possess a desire to help grieving families plan the religious aspects of a Christian burial

          Funeral Meals – provide luncheon for funerals in conjunction with the Bereavement Committee

        Building and Grounds Committee – assist the maintenance staff in maintaining and improving parish buildings and grounds

        Education Commission – prepares recommendations on policies that guide Parish education and religious formation
